Compound evaluation services: Multiple sclerosis (MS)
Compound evaluation in mouse models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a widely accepted model of multiple sclerosis (MS).
JAX® In Vivo Services MS Capabilities
Customizable and comprehensive preclinical compound efficacy testing and phenotyping in SJL/J (000686) mouse
- Proteolipid protein (PLP) fragment-induced EAE
- Relapsing-remitting EAE closely mimics MS
Study protocol
- Eight-week-old SJL/J (000686) female mice
- Injection of PLP139-152 in Freunds complete adjuvant containing 4mg/ml mycobacterium into shoulders and flanks
- 200ng Pertussis toxin IP at time of PLP injection and 2 days later
- Scoring every three days for Disease Acivity Index (DAI)
Example study timeline
